Online games are supposed to be fun. Tens of millions play them, so if they were not a source of fun they would not bother with it. Of course, for some people being a good game player is harder than it is for others. But that’s true as it applies mostly to people new to it or those who don’t do it much. But that’s fine as getting your sea legs does not have to be an impossible thing to do. All you need is the right equipment (like left handed mouses if you are a left handed person) and the right attitude (can-do) and you shouldn’t have any problems at all. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you make sure that you have a good time gaming.

Flat out – have the most appropriate equipment you need. On the other hand, if you’re not a hardcore gamer, then we’ll cut you some slack – but not much. Change the mouse button functions, and that will do the trick. But you should think about what you plan to do, and getting a quality left-handed mouse would be advised for EverQuest, World of Warcraft, etc. But do you want to perform at your best? If you do, then think about that left-handed mouse because it will make a difference in many situations. So maybe take part of the weekend and find a cheap (inexpensive sounds better) mouse you like, and we’re certain it won’t set you back much.

Avoid being overly competitive. Good game play requires you to be at least a little bit humble. Don’t gloat too much, if at all, if you’re better at something than someone else. Don’t get angry or anything like that when you lose a game. Just offer a congratulations and be gracious about it. Accept that you have been defeated and try to figure out what you can do to keep it from happening again. If you do that enough people will remember, and you’ll have a good rep for yourself.

There’s never anything wrong with asking for advice from others. In the beginning, having to play with the keyboard shorts plus a new left-handed mouse can be a pain and awkward. If you can find one, ask someone else who is left-handed for any tips or pointers. Even if you’re not a bad player, or if you’re good, it’s a smart idea to ask people for any good advice. People can be predictable in some ways because you will discover they love helping other people, usually. Don’t be shy and brush off someone who comes to you and asks for your help either.

You can get a lot from online gaming. It’s fun interacting with all the other players. You can fulfill various fantasies. As you improve your skill level, you’ll find that online gaming is even more fun. That can mean having the right equipment (like investing in one of the left handed mouses) and being friendly to others even if you find them annoying (kind of like when you are at work). Don’t let it become an unhealthy obsession though. Having fun is the most important online gaming rule!
